Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor's much talked about movie 'OK Jaanu' has witnessed an average start at the box office and minted Rs 4.08 cr on its day of release. Despite being the first release of the year, the movie failed to spread its magic at the box office.
'OK Jaanu' which was a love saga, was released on 1500 screens across the nation.
Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh, took it to micro-blogging site Twitter to share the box office collections of the movie.

'OK Jaanu' which was a love saga, was released on 1500 screens across the nation.
Though, the movie got a lot of attention, post release, owing to Shraddha-Aditya's pairing and A.R Rahman's music, it somehow failed to attract much of the audience to the theatres.
According to the media reports, 'OK Jaanu' opened to just 30 percent occupancy on its first day.

Helmed by Shaad Ali, 'OK Jaanu' was a remake of Mani Ratnam's 2015 super hit movie 'OK Kanmani' and was made with a budget of Rs 32 crore.
Notably, the movie will face a tough competition at the box office as Deepika Padukone's first Hollywood venture 'xXx: Return of Xander Cage' has also hit the theatres today.
Besides, Aamir Khan's 'Dangal' has already been ruling the box office for three weeks now.
We wonder, if 'OK Jaanu' will be able to recover its cost of production and earn a successful collection.
