'Phillauri' box-office day one: Anushka-Diljit's love story gets a decent start, earns Rs 4.02 crore

'Phillauri' box-office day one: Anushka-Diljit's love story gets a decent start, earns Rs 4.02 crore

Anushka Sharma, who is rolling high on success these days, have got another reason to celebrate now. Her recent release 'Phillauri' has started off with a decent start at the box office and has made a collection of Rs 4.02 crore on its day of release.

Also starring Diljit Dosanjh and Suraj Sharma in the lead, 'Phillauri' happens to be Anushka's second production.

Actress Anushka Sharma's second production "Phillauri" has collected Rs 4.02 crore nett on its opening day.

Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh took it to micro-blogging site Twitter to share the box office report of the movie.

He wrote, "Phillauri is best in North, ordinary elsewhere. Fri ₹ 4.02 cr. India biz... Needs SOLID numbers on Sat+Sun to register STRONG wknd total."

 

North India has contributed 52 per cent of the total 'Phillauri' collections.

Interestingly, the movie has surpassed the first day collections of Anushka's maiden home production 'NH10', which minted Rs 3.35 crore on its day of release.

"'Phillauri' is a high concept film with a big heart and we are happy with the start that it has had on day one. The film has good word of mouth and it will grow today.

"It is a fun, family entertainer and a perfect weekend watch for audiences across all age-groups," Producers Vijay Singh, CEO, Fox Star Studios and Karnesh Sharma of Clean Slate Films said in a statement.

Helmed by Anshai Lal, 'Phillauri' was made on a budget of Rs 21 crore and has recovered Rs 12 crore from satellite and music rights.
