New Delhi:

The Delhi High Court on Friday refused to ban the screening of "MSG-2- The Messenger" as well to quash the certificate granted for public exhibition of the film.

The high court had dismissed a plea which wanted the movie by Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh to be banned on the ground that it depicts 'Adivasis' as anti-nationals, saying the film's trailer depicts "a fantasy to the viewers and has to be understood in that light only".

The court's order of September 16 has been challenged by Prem Mardi, who had filed the earlier petition, and who has contended that the single judge's decision was bad in law.

The single-judge bench had said that the reference in the film to "Adivasis" is not found to be relatable in any manner to Scheduled Tribes.

The court had also said that the petition undermines the "average intelligence" of Indian citizens and proceeds on the premise of viewers of film to be of such an intellect and understanding, so as to immediately after watching the film, they would start imitating the fantasy shown in the movie.
