'Mr Perfect' starring Tollywood heartthrob Prabhas has been caught in a legal mess as a novelist has accused producer of plagiarism.
The producer Dil Raju has been accused by a novelist of plagiarising her story and making a movie out of it. A case was filed against Raju and four others under the Copy Right Acts.
The romantic comedy movie — Mr Perfect — was released in the year 2011.
The novelist Shyamala Rani has stated that she published 'Na Manasu Ninnu Kore' in the year 2010. She alleged that the Prabhas starrer is based on the very same novel.
Rani claimed the producers didn't take her permission for using her story. She moved to Miyapur court and accused the filmmakers of cheating.
The court then directed Madhapur Police to register a case against Dil Raju, director K Dasarath, co-producers Sirish and Lakshman and dialogue writer Abburi Ravi.
'Mr Perfect' proved to be a successful affair at the box office and cemented Prabhas place in the industry. The movie was made years before the blockbuster 'Baahubali' was released.
Kajal Aggarwal and Taapsee Pannu played the lead roles opposite Prabhas in the movie.
Dil Raju is one of the prominent producers in Telugu cinema and has delivered several hits. Some of his well-known movies include Dil, Arya, Bommarillu, Parugu, Bhadra and Kotha Bangaru Lokam.
