Shah Rukh Khan has rubbished the reports of doing a movie with filmmaker Karan Johar and said that he hasn't been approached for any such project. It was reported that the superstar will be collaborating with KJo once again in an international movie 'VIY: Journey to India' which also stars Ranbir Kapoor in the lead. The trio had last worked together in 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' where in SRK had played a cameo.
Clearing the air about the same Khan told DNA, “I don’t even know what film this is. I don’t remember meeting anyone for a film like that at all. So no, it’s not true. He has not approached me for a film, with Ranbir or without him.”
Shah Rukh further clarified, “Karan last approached me for Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, which I did. Before that, he had come to me with another script, which he dropped. He told me he doesn’t want to make it. He was not directing it, someone else was making it under his banner. He just came to me and told me, ‘Bhai, I have an idea. Would you like to hear it?’ I said yes. But then, after three days, he called me to say that it is too expensive and he doesn’t want to do it. He said he’ll think of something else.”
On the other hand, Karan Johar too voiced similar opinion and said, "Yes, there was talk of a film. It was a while ago. It was on a script which I later felt was going all over the place so we redesigned the film. Whether it is Adi and Shah Rukh or me — we have had a really solid combination run. He is my go-to person for a film when I think of an idea. He is great to jam with. His instinct on cinema, and what he thinks I am capable of, is stronger than what I am really capable of. He actually has better instinct on what I can do more than I have. He knows my abilities as a filmmaker much more than I perhaps recognise myself. So he and I always talk in general about so many films.”
