Sidharth Malhotra and Sonakshi Sinha starrer Ittefaq has opened on a slow note at the box office. The movie which was released on November 3 is the remake of the 1969 film of the same name.
The thriller film produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Dharma Productions has raked in Rs 4.05 crore on its opening day.
The makers of the film didn't follow an extensive promotion strategy and this could be a reason why the movie didn't do as per expectations on the first day.
Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the box office collection of the Abhay Chopra directorial.
#Ittefaq started slow, but picked up towards evening... Sat + Sun biz growth crucial... Fri ₹ 4.05 cr. India biz.— taran adarsh (@taran_adarsh) November 4, 2017
The movie also stars Akshaye Khanna in a key role. Khanna who was also part of two action thrillers Mom and Dishoom has been praised for his performance in the movie.
The movie revolved around two strangers who are the main suspect in two murders and have their own version of the story of the same night.
Sidharth Malhotra was last seen in 'A Gentleman' which didn't do quite well at the box office.
