Rajkumar Hirani’s untitled film with Ranbir Kapoor has been making waves ever since the project was announced. The much-awaited film will open up the facets of Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt’s personal and professional life on the silver screen.
There have been a lot of speculations on the role of Sonam Kapoor, ever since it was confirmed that she is doing a cameo in the film. Grapevines were buzzing with the rumours that the Neerja star would play a Bollywood actress in the biopic.
Sonam Kapoor while talking to leading daily squashed all the rumours. The Prem Ratan Dhan Payo actress told DNA, “I have a small but important part in the movie. It’s not what everyone is thinking. I am not playing an actress. I am not allowed to say anything about it. But it has been wonderful working with Rajkumar Hirani. He is one of the biggest reasons why I said yes to this film.â€
The makers of the biopic are yet to officially reveal the name of the film, but fans have already started calling it ‘Sanju’. Interestingly, the fans fondly call Sanjay Dutt as Sanju Baba.
The film which also stars Jim Sarbh, Anushka Sharma, Dia Mirza, Paresh Rawal and Vicky Kausahal is slated to hit the cinema theatres on June 29.
Talking about Sonam Kapoor, the diva is gearing up for release of her highly-anticipated flick Veere Di Wedding. The female buddy comedy drama also features Kareena Kapoor Khan and Swara Bhaskar in ley roles. The Shashanka Ghosh directorial will release on June 1. Â
