Aamir Khan's upcoming movie Thugs of Hindostan is making the headlines for its gripping starcast. The movie features Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Sheikh along with Mr Perfectionist.
So far there have been reports that Katrina will be playing the female lead in Thugs of Hindostan.
However, in a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Aamir has rubbished the reports and said that instead of Katrina it is the Dangal actress who will play the lead role in the movie.
"All the characters in Thugs of Hindostan are very beautifully written. Mr Bachchan, Fatima, my role are the three key characters in the film," Aamir was quoted as saying.
The Dangal actor even spoke about Katrina's role and stated, "She is also there but you know in all fairness I don't know if I can call it a lead role. I mean she has got two songs out of three. So, in that sense she has got an important part. The story is about this girl played by Fatima. She is playing the central role."
Notably, Aamir has been mighty impressed with Fatima's performace in Dangal and had even recommended her for Thugs of Hindostan.
Helmed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, the movie is said to have a backdrop of the pre-Independence era.
