Student Of The Year proved to be the perfect launching pad for Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra. Movie buffs are now looking forward to the second instalment of the romantic drama which will feature Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria.
Punit Malhotra, who is helming SOTY 2, turned a year older on Sunday and the star cast of the film made the day special for him. Though the I Hate Luv Stories director celebrated his 34th birthday, Ananya and Tara wished him a happy 21st birthday.
Ananya Panday shared a picture with Punit and called him the best director. The budding actress wrote ''Happy 21st birthday Mr Director, you’re the best’’.
Punit Malhotra received gifts from the SOTY 2 team, but the handmade cap and a handwritten note from Ananya Panday caught our attention. The Gori Tere Pyaar Mein director shared a picture with the caption, ‘’Thank you family and friends. Coming home to this love. don’t miss the handmade cap and note from Ananya Panday’’.
Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday celebrated Punit Malhotra’s birthday by cutting cake on the sets of the film. The Baaghi 2 actor’s fan clubs shared pictures from the on-set celebrations.

Tara Sutaria also gave a warm birthday wish to the SOTY 2 director.
The cast and crew of Student Of The Year 2 are currently busy with the shooting of their film in Mussoorie. The rom-com will hit the silver screens on November 23 this year.
