Twinkle Khanna REVEALS real reason behind making ‘PadMan’

Since the launch of the trailer, fans of Akshay Kumar are eagerly waiting for the release of his upcoming release ‘Padman’. The movie is based on women social issue regarding menstrual hygience.

Twinkle Khanna – Producer of ‘PadMan’ spoke about the real reason behind making the film and said, “As women, we’ve actually just begun our journey, the journey of wanting equality. We’ve begun our journey, as you can see all over the world, to not being discriminated because of our biology or our gender. So, I’d say that there are a lot of things we need to work towards’’.

She also shared that why se chose her husband to play the lead role in the flick and said, “R. Balki later convinced me that Akshay should play this part. If we have somebody the Indian public idolises, and men look upto, we would need someone who is a gamechanger. After watching the film, I don’t think anybody could have played this as wonderfully as Akshay’’.

‘PadMan’ is based on the life of Arunachalam Muruganantham who invented a machine which produces inexpensive, sterilised sanitary pads and fought for menstrual hygiene in India.

Directed by R Balki, the flick also stars Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor in lead roles. The movie is set to hit the theatres on January 26.
