Vidya Balan, who has stolen the hearts of many with her latest ‘Tumhari Sulu’, believes that every movie should be released in the same way as it was directed, and if people feel offended in any way, they should not watch the flick, instead of protesting.

The actor’s remarks come after a whole lot of controversy started over the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum-opus ‘Padmaavat’, which faced many protests from various fringe groups which alleged that the director distorted the history, a claim which was denied by Bhansali.

Balan, who is an acting member of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), commenting on the whole issue, said, “I feel every kind of film should be allowed to be released in the way it's been made and then if you don't want to go and watch it, don't watch it. But at least watch it to know what it has.”

The ‘Kahaani’ actress said that protestors should first watch a movie, instead of raising their voices and creating violence with any pre-judgment.

“It is our fundamental rights for making film on any subject and its screening in the theatres and should not be violated,” said Balan.

'Padmaavat' starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, and Shahid Kapoor released on January 25 after the CBFC gave a 'U/A' certification along with five modifications, including the change of title from 'Padmavati' to 'Padmaavat'.
