Veteran Kannada actress Jayanthi's son has vehemently rubbished the reports of her demise and claimed that it was a mere hoax.
It was reported that Jayanthi has passed away lately, after complaining about breathing problems. The reports of the veteran actress' death got rife after she was rushed to hospital on March 25.
However, contrary to the reports, Jayanthi's son has mentioned that there is no truth behind the rumours and the actress is recovering well.
"There is no truth in the news of Jayanthi's death. Some TV channels reported that she was dead, which is untrue, as they were confused regarding her health," Jayanthi's son told Sakshi.com.
He further added, "She has been suffering from asthma for 35 years. She used inhalers every day and was never admitted to hospital over breathing issues. Last evening, her health started deteriorated and she was taken to Sidvin Hospital. Based on doctor's advises, we shifted her to Vikram Hospital in Cunningham Road".
Notably, Jayanthi isn't the first celebrity to have fallen prey of death hoax. Earlier, fake death reports of celebs like Amitabh Bachchan, Farida Jalal, Dilip Kumar, Rajinikanth etc have also created a buzz on social media.
