Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi actress Amita Udgata passes away

New Delhi:

Television actress Amita Udgata, who was last seen in Sony TV's Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi, has passed away on Wednesday. She has passed away due to lung failure.

Amita was in the hospital for four days now and was put on the ventilator a day before.

“Amita Udgata passed away yesterday night and was on life support for last 3-4 days. She passed away due to lung failure,” a source reportedly told Indian Express.

Her last rites will be performed on Thursday. Udgata is survived by two sons.

Amita's death has sent down a wave of grief in the industry. Her friend Abha Parmar told India Today, “We were more like sisters than friends. I am from Kanpur and she was from Lucknow. I wasn’t aware that her condition was so serious. I was supposed to visit her today. She was a great actress and a friend and we have faced life’s struggles together.”

Amita Udgata became a household name for her performance in Star Plus' show Mann Ki Awaaz Pratigya wherein she played to role of Amma. She has also worked in shows like Maharana Pratap, Baba Aiso Varr Dhundo and Doli Armaanon Ki among others.

Besides, Amita was also seen in Bollywood movies like Sarbjit and Hasee Toh Phasee
