Mumbai:

The makers of the show "Pehredaar Piya Ki", which was embroiled in controversy for its regressive content, are back with a new show with the same cast.

Title of the new show is "Rishta Likhenge Hum Naya".

Aired on Sony Entertainment Television, "Pehredaar Piya Ki" went off air following the objection raised to its plot line of showing an 18-year-old woman marrying a 10-year- old boy.

The show will see Tejaswi Prakash as Diya.

"We hope this new show Rishta Likhenge Hum Naya with its strong characters and concept will enthral the viewers. We are glad to witness immense anticipation and excitement for the show and look forward to entertaining the viewers," Sumeet Mittal, founder and director of Shashi Sumeet Productions said in a statement.

The makers said the story of the new show is completely different laced with modern outlook.

"We strongly believe this gripping story of Diya and her sacrifice will definitely be liked by the audience," said Ashish Golwalkar, senior creative director, Sony Entertainment Television.

Set in Rajasthan, "Rishta Likhenge Hum Naya", is a finite show, which will challenge the conventional perception of man being the protector of a woman and turn this stereotypical thought on its head.

This is a never-told-before story of a unique relationship, which is based not on birth, blood, marriage, love, or any other interests like wealth and power but on a simple promise made to a benevolent dying man.

It will also feature Jiten Lalwani, Girish Sachdev, Siddharth Shivpuri, Aditi Deshpande, Harmeet Kaur, Meenu Ranchal, Achherr Bhaardwaaj, Kasturi Maitra, Manisha Saxena and Varunn Jain.
