Popular dance reality show Super Dancer Chapter 2 aired its much-awaited grand finale on Saturday. The home-grown property of Sony Entertainment Television created history by becoming the longest-running single season of a dance-based reality show.
The show got its top finalists in the form of Ritik Diwaker, Vaishnavi Prajapati, Bishal Sharma and Akash Thapa. In the end, Bishal Sharma defeated the other three participants to bag the winner’s trophy.
Interestingly, the channel conducted live voting to determine the winner of the show. Viewers could vote for their favourite contestant on the Sony Liv app.
After a cut-throat competition, the three judges Shilpa Shetty, Anurag Basu and Geeta Kapoor announced Bishal as the champion.
The 12-year-old boy from Assam received the maximum number of votes and took home a cash prize of Rs 15 lakh. His mentor Vaibhav Ghuge received a cheque of Rs 5 lakh.
Bishal Sharma impressed the fans with his contemporary and hip-hop dance throughout the season. The talented boy left the judges in awe whenever he performed on the stage.
The grand finale of the show was nothing short of a blockbuster affair and witnessed several electrifying performances from the participants. The judges also grooved to the tunes of some peppy numbers.
Geeta Kapur paid a tribute to the yesteryear actresses while Shilpa showed her sassy dance moves on energetic tracks.
Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan graced the finale of the show to promote his much-awaited movie October. The Badlapur star shook a leg with Shilpa, sending the studio audience into tizzy.
Super Dancer Chapter 2 from the stable of Frames Productions was launched on September 30. The show managed to break all TRP records and became the number one non-fiction show within few days of launch.Â
