New Delhi:

Ranveer Singh has become one of the most sought-after actors in Bollywood and has quite a few films in his kitty.

The 'Befikre' actor is gearing up for the release of one of the most awaited movies of the year- Padmavati. The period drama is slated to hit the screens on December 1.

Fans of the actor know that the 'Bajirao Mastani' star is all set to collaborate with Kabir Khan for a film based on India's 1983 cricket world cup win.  The upcoming movie titled '83' will see Ranveer Singh portraying the role of Kapil Dev.

The sports drama is being produced by Reliance Entertainment, in association with Phantom Films, Kabir Khan Films and and Vibri Media.

The makers of the film have announced the release date on Sunday. The Kabir Khan directorial is slated to hit the theatres on April 5, 2019.

The upcoming movie will focus on how the Indian cricket team under the captaincy of Kapil Dev defeated West Indies to lift the 1983 World Cup. It will showcase how a newbie captain led a young team to a glorious victory.

With Ranveer Singh and Kabir Khan on board, we expect the film to be one hell of an affair.
