From one avatar to the other, Kangana Ranaut can sashay any role with such ease and perfection that keeps her much in demand in the world of Indian cinema and glamour. This year, her table is full and her spirits high. Hold your breath, the actress, currently shooting for Mental Hai Kya in London, will soon be seen as a kabaddi player in Ashwini Iyer’s upcoming sports drama.
Kangana is likely to wrap up shooting for MHK in July. Soon after, the actress will be rushing back to her city Mumbai, to start her prep for her next.
”Kangana’s Mental Hai Kya wraps up on July 11. She will immediately fly back to Mumbai and complete some patchwork of Manikarnika,” sources close to the actress reveals.
The Kabaddi film will require Kangana to work really hard and spend a good time prepping to get into the skin of her character.
”She has to devote two days for a brand shoot. But, for the most part of August, she and Ashwini will be busy doing a workshop for the kabaddi film,” the source added.
Meanwhile, Ashwini is scouting for a coach who will train Ranaut in the sport.
“Ashwini is screening national-level kabaddi champions’ profiles to find the one who can handhold Kangana through the sport,” a source from the films production unit says.
While preparing for her role, Kangana might have to go through a physique change, which could be tough.
”While Kangana has already started practicing yoga to be able to master holding breath- a pre-requisite of the game - the prep will see her learning different kinds of holds and kicks. Learning the crocodile hold and wrist catch will be crucial. She will also need to undergo a change in terms of her physique,” the source added.
While the preparation for the film would begin in July-August, the shooting of it is slated for later part of the year.
