An Indian army jawan posted in the Laam sector in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district along the Line of Control allegedly committed suicide on Wednesday by shooting himself with his service rifle.

Police have registered a case and are investigating into the circumstances that could have led to the suicide of Lance Naik Vishal Lohar of 54th battalion of the Rashtriya Rifles. The Army has also ordered a court of inquiry (CoI) into the incident. The 33-year-old jawan hailed from Karnataka.
