BJP National Executive: BJP will be back to power with absolute majority, says Amit Shah

New Delhi:

The BJP National Executive meeting, which kick-started on Saturday will articulate Modi government's response to the opposition's combined attack over the continuous surge in fuel price since August 16. The BJP national meeting, which was long due owing to party president Amit Shah’s nationwide tour will also formulate its strategy for the state assembly polls and the Lok Sabha elections.

The two-day meeting will mark attendance of BJP's key leaders from all states and Union territories besides its national leadership. It is held at Delhi's Ambedkar International Centre, which works to promote the works and ideas of social reformer Babasaheb BR Ambedkar.

Here are the highlights on BJP's National Executive meeting:

# 11:35 am: We will come with an absolute majority. No one can defeat the strength of determination (Sankalp ki shakti ko koi parajit nahi kar sakta), says Amit Shah at the office bearers' meeting.

# 10:26 am: BJP President Amit Shah inaugurates BJP office bearers meeting at Delhi's Ambedkar International Centre.

# 09:50 am: BJP two-day National Executive meeting will begin today in Delhi. Visuals from outside Ambedkar International Centre where the meeting will take place.

While Shah has given his inaugural speech at BJP's National Executive on Saturday Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to give the valedictory speech on Sunday. The ruling party is likely to highlight the central government's steps for "social justice" and "economic successes" besides its schemes aimed at empowering the poor.

The National Executive meeting comes on the heels of upper caste organisations’ protest over its decision to pass an amendment to SC/ST act to woo the backward community. The unrest among upper castes has become a reason of worry as it is considered to be a core support base of the Saffron party.
