Family members of two boys — one 16-year-old and another 22-year-old — who had  hung themselves in Kerala have claimed that the duo killed themselves because of  the infamous ‘Blue Whale Game'.

A Kerala police teams investigating the death of the two boys on Wednesday visited the house of the ‘Blue Whale Game' victims after the claims made by family members.

According to mother of Manoj C Manu, the 16-year-old boy who hung himself on July 16 to complete the game said, “My son has mentioned about playing the game in November.”

“He had started hurting himself with broken glass and had carved ‘ABI’ into his using a compass.”

Her mother recalling the conversations with her deceased son said, “He had once told me that he is playing a game, where a gamer should commit suicide or murder sometime. I had got scared after hearing about the game and had requested him not to play the game.”

She also mentioned that her son once had jumped into a river though he did not know how to swim. “He was rescued then,” added the teenagers mother.

Manu’s mother also told the media that in two week before the game he had said, “ ‘Will  you be upset if I die?’ ”

Similarly, family members of 22-year-old youth, Sawant, who too like Manu hanged himself, claimed that their son is also a victim of the infamous online game.

Relatives of Sawant said that he had slashed his arms with blade, carved initials in his chest and kept awake all night watching horror movies or playing games.

According to reports, the game sets challenges initially such as watching horror films, cutting shapes into their skin and finally challenge them to commit suicide.

The users are asked to send photographic evidence back to the creators of the game to complete each challenge. They ask them to send the pictures as proof or they will send threats.

The 'Blue Whale Game' first made news after a 15-year-old schoolgirl from Russia named Yulia Konstantinova posted the picture of a blue whale on Instagram shortly before jumping to death. According to report first victim of the infamous game in India was a teenager from Mumbai.
