New Delhi:

He calls himself a baba (saint) but his personal conduct is poles apart. He loves to be in the limelight but more often than not courts controversy. The so called Baba Swami OM alias Vinod Anand Jha came out in defence of controversial Godman Virendra Dev Dikshit, who allegedly sexually assaulted girls in his Rohini Ashram.

While speaking at News Nation’s eye opener show “Dharm Ke Dhokhebaaz,” Swami OM on behalf of Virendra Dev Dikshit rebutted all the allegations against the Godman and termed it a conspiracy against him.

Virendra Dev Dikshit, the founder of Rohini's Adhyatmik Vishwa Vidyalaya was absconding after the reports of women and girls allegedly being confined in his ashram.

Earlier last week, the Delhi High Court had directed the CBI to trace the whereabouts of the spiritual head of Adhyatmik Vishwa Vidyalaya, being probed by the agency for allegedly confining women and girls like “animals in a cage”.

A bench of Acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice C Hari Shankar directed Virender Dev Dixit, the founder of the Adhyatmik Vishwa Vidyalaya in North Delhi’s Rohini area, to be present before it on January 4, the next date of hearing.

The court was hearing a PIL filed by NGO Foundation for Social Empowerment, which informed the court that several minors and women were allegedly being illegally confined at the “spiritual university” here and were not allowed to meet their parents.
