Former US President Barack Obama, who is on a three-country visit, will address a town hall for the Obama Foundation on Friday in Delhi.

He is also likely to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, though, the timing of the meeting between the two leaders was not clear.

Barack Obama, who is visiting India for the first time after demitting office in January, will interact with nearly 300 young leaders from across the country during his town hall address.

“I will be conducting a town hall with young leaders of India who can share with me some of the works they are trying to do to make communities better and also answer questions on how Obama Foundation can help,” Obama wrote on his Facebook wall.

The town hall address of the former US president Obama, which is scheduled to be held at 3:45 PM, will be live streamed at Obama.org.

The bilateral ties between India and US rose to a new high during Obama administration.

Obama had also been the chief guest of India’s Republic Day celebrations in 2015.

Prime Minister Modi had called Barack a “good friend” and co-hosted his monthly radio show “Mann Ki Baat” with him.

Obama is on a three-nation tour which also includes France and China. Earlier on on Thursday, Obama had paid a visit to Chinese President Xi Jinping, who recently hosted US President Donald Trump.
