New Delhi:
During a discussion on the Goods and Services Tax (GST) implementation, Jammu and Kashmir minister Imran Ansari told National Conference leader Devender Rana that he can lynch the latter in the Assembly itself. “I can lynch you here,” he said.
A heated argument was going on in the Assembly when Ansari made this remark.
It is to be noted that Jammu and Kashmir is the only state where GST is yet to be implemented. The rest of the country welcomed one of the biggest tax reforms in the country on July 1.
Members of the House should rise above “political considerations” and agree upon what is good for the state and its people, Rana said while he was taking part in the discussion related to GST.

Opposing the GST in its current form, Rana said that it would render the special status of the state. The minister for information technology, technical education and youth services and sports, interrupted and accused Rana of double standards.
Ansari accused Rana saying that he has already migrated his businesses to the new taxation regime. He also read out the provisional GST registration numbers of various businesses owned by Rana and his family.
Nazir Ahmad Gurezi, the Deputy Speaker of the J&K Assembly hit out at both saying that they were wasting the public money. “Stop attacking each other. People might strip you when you go out. This is nonsense. Stop it!” he said.
