New Delhi:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday will visit poll-bound home state, Gujarat, for the third time in October. He will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for a number of projects in Vadodara and Bhavnagar districts worth Rs 2000 crore.

The prime minister will inaugurate the Rs 615 crore ferry service — roll-on, roll-off (ro-ro) — between Gogha in Bhavnagar district and Dahej in Bharuch in Gulf of Cambay.

Modi during Gandhinagar rally had said that the ferry service will reduce the distance between the two towns from 310 kilometers by roads to 30 kilometers.

Chief Executive Officer of Gujarat Maritime Board Ajay Bhadoo, said that the first phase of the service is to be inaugurated by Modi on Sunday is meant for passengers.

After inaugurating the ro-ro, Modi will address public in Ghogna and then he will undertake a journey to Dahej on the ferry.

According to Gujarat officials, from Dahej Modi will leave for Vadodara, where he will lay foundation stone or inaugurate projects worth over Rs 1,140 crores.

In Vadodara the prime minister will dedicate Rs 100 crore city command and control centre in Badamadi Garden, Rs 125 crore Janmahal city transport hub and multi-level parking (under PPP), Rs 166 crore water treatment plant, two flyovers collectively worth  Rs 300 crore, Rs 160 crore multi-modal city transport hub, Rs 267 crore waste-to- energy processing plant, deer safari park, and a Rs 6 crore veterinary hospital.

Modi after laying the foundation stones will address to the people at Navlakhi compound in Vadodara.
