The saying 'Old habits die hard', perhaps suits best for the Dera Sacha Sauda chief, Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh who was recently visited by his mother Naseeb Kaur.
On her visit, the first question she encountered from her son was, if everything was working fine at the Dera. The self styled earstwhile Godman is currently serving a jail term at Rohatak's Sunaria jail for 20 years for raping two of his followers.
In reply, the mother assured him that everything was working fine at the Dera. While Gurmeet was taken to jail, the rift within the ranks of the Dera was clearly visible.
If rumours are to be believed then his adopted daughter, Honeypreet Kaur might be the next in-charge of the Dera Sacha Sauda.
On the other hand Naseeb Kaur, the mother of Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh earlier expressed her choice for the next Dera chief as Jasmeet Singh Insan who is the son of the former Dera chief.
The court and the police have turned down multiple requests of Ram Rahim Singh to meet Honeypreet Insan. Meanwhile, the Haryana police has launched a search operation to arrest Honeypreet on charges of sedition brought earlier. She has reportedly gone underground.
