Haryana Police arrests 23 people for murdering five of family in Faridabad

A day after five people were killed in Palwali village in Faridabad, Haryana Police on Tuesday have claimed to arrest 23 people in connection with the incident.

New Delhi :  

A day after five people were killed in Palwali village in Faridabad, Haryana Police on Tuesday have claimed to arrest 23 people in connection with the incident.

The police said that 18 of the arrested were produced before the local court. The court sent sent sarpanch Dayawati and one of her in-law Omvati to 14 days judicial custody. While, 11 persons were sent to two days and four to four days of police remand.

Police said a minor who has also been apprehended for his alleged involvement in the murder has been sent to juvenile home.

A police officer investigating the case said, main accused of the case, Billu, who is Dayawati’s husband and a former sarpanch, along with four others will be produced in court tomorrow.

On Sunday evening a clash broke out between two groups in the Palwali village which led the killing of five persons from a family.

Police said, a agitated mob attacked the family with batons, sharp-weapons and firearms. Five people were killed in the sport and more than half-a-dozen people suffered injuries in the clash.

Family members of the deceased had named 25 people in the FIR. The police is waiting for the postmortem reports to confirm if the victims died due to bullet injuries or injuries caused by sharp-weapons.

Soon after the incident Police Commissioner Hanif Qureshi had had formed a special investigation team to nab the culprits behind the killing.

Security forces have been deployed in the village to prevent any further unto incidents.
