New Delhi:

Haryana and Rajasthan police carried out a joint operation to trace Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Singh’s adopted daughter Honeypreet Singh on Thursday.

A senior police official said the search operation for the Dera chief’s adopted daughter was launched in Rajasthan after they received intelligence inputs regarding Honeypreet to be in Rajasthan.

The officer added that according to the inputs Honeypreet was sighted in several places in Rajasthan.

“Are sources reported that she was hiding at a house in Sri Gurusar Modia village in Rajasthan’s Sri Ganganagar district,” added the officer.

He also informed that Sri Gurusar Modia village is native place of Gurmeet Singh.

The official added that Haryana Police and Rajasthan Police carried out search operation in Sri Gurusar Modia village for hours but did not find her there.

Haryana Police had launched a manhunt for Honeypreet after she was booked for inciting violence of August 25 in Panchkula.

Dera chief Gurmeet Singh is serving 20 years jail term for raping two of his followers.
