New Delhi:

Senior lawyer Ram Jethmalani on Tuesday clarified over controversy surfaced after the Delhi government sent a bill to Delhi Lieutenant-Governor for approval as fees to the senior lawyer who represented him in a defamation case filed by Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.

Jethmalani said that he would appear for Kejriwal for free as the latter cannot pay him his fees.

While talking to media, he said, "Even now if the government doesn't pay or he can't pay, I will appear free. I will then treat him as one of my poor clients.”

He said he only charged the rich people and the union minister had drawn forehead lines because of his cross –eaxmination.

“I charge only the rich but for poor I work for free. All this is instigated by Mr.Jailtley who's afraid of my cross-examination,” Jethmalani said.

The senior lawyer alleged that Union minister Arun Jaitley has control over the Lieutenant -governor Anil Baijal as the latter has sought  an advice from Solicitor General Ranjit Kumar's in clearing the bills.
