New Delhi:
As many as eight boats and around 40 fishermen have been rescued and brought to safety in a search and rescue operations by Indian Coast Guard after they were stuck in the turbulent sea off Gujarat coast on Wednesday.Â
Four ICG ships and ALH helicopters were on the job, locating and rescuing boats and fishermen, after receiving distress calls from the fishermen in the morning.Â
The inclement prevailing weather and turbulent sea state has lead to several fishing boats going aground and capsizing necessitating immediate rescue.Â
The search is still on for the rest of the fishermen, who are reported missing.
