A Qatar Airways flight was forced to land in Chennai after an Iranian woman got into a heated altercation with her husband and created ruckus mid-air.

A Qatar Airways flight was forced to land in Chennai after an Iranian woman got into a heated altercation with her husband and created ruckus mid-air.

According to Qatar Airways officials the flight from Doha heading to Bali was forced to land in Chennai on November 5, when a woman in inebriated condition created ruckus after she found out that her husband was cheating on her.

The officials added that the Iranian woman who was travelling along with her husband and their young child. They had boarded the flight from Doha to Bali. "On November 5, at about 10 am, Qatar Airways flight QR-962 (Doha-Bali) was diverted to Chennai after a lady along with her husband and a child. They were offloaded, which had no stopover as the woman created a ruckus and misbehaved with crew members inflight,” said a security officer in Chennai.

According to Chennai airport officials the Iranian woman who suspected her husband of cheating, unlocked his phone by putting his finger on its scanner and after checking contents got into a heated argument with him.

The official added that when the Qatar Airways crew members intervened and tried to control the situation the Iranian woman misbehaved with them. “Seeing situation getting out of hand, Qatar Airways crew members decided to offload the family in Chennai.

Officials in Chennai kept the family in the airport campus till the woman got sober. They were later boarded on a plane to Kuala Lumpur and from where they were taken to Doha by a connecting flight.
