The chief recruiter of terrorist regime Islamic State in India has been reportedly killed in Syria.
Shafi Armar aka Yousuf al-Hindi, who was named in the list of global terrorists by the US treasury department two months ago, was believed to be part of casualties in an attack on IS by Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in Raqqa recently.
IS released a message on Monday, saying the terrorist group had lost "Indian Al Hindi" along with an Australian fighter, Abu Fahad, during a battle with Kurdistan Workers' Party. The message was released in Arabic through IS mouthpiece 'Amaq'.

Armar, who hails from Bhatkal in Karnataka, had been operating with different aliases like al-Hindi, Anjan Bhai, Chote Maula and Safi. These IDs were used by several recruiters in touch with at least 600-700 Indian youngsters on closed social media groups.
He is believed to have radicalised at least three dozen youths in the country.
Armar's brother Sultan was killed in a US air strike in Syria last year.
PKK is the combat module of its US-backed Kurdish People's Defence Force (YPG), and is considered a vital force fighting IS in Syria.
