New Delhi:

Union finance minister Arun Jaitley on Sunday said people who are seeking development of the nation need to pay what is required of them.

The finance minister also added that money should be “spent honestly.”

While speaking at National Academy of Customs Excise and Narcotics in Faridabad, Jaitley said that revenue is the lifeline of the economy and it will help India to put from developing nation to developed countries.

"In a society which did not conventionally mind being a non-tax complaint one, people are realising the virtues of compliance which comes with passage of time. This is the reason for tax integration. Once change is established, we will have scope and space for improvement. And once we become revenue neutral, we need to think of better reforms,"ANI quoted Jaitley as saying.
