Army jawan involved in Sameer Tiger encounter abducted from Pulwama

New Delhi:

An Army jawan, who was involved in the encounter of  Hizbul Mujahideen chief Sameer Tiger, was reportedly abducted from Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday.

Aurangzeb, a resident of Poonch was part of 44 Rashtriya Rifles and abducted by militants while traveling back to his home on leave, according to an official statement from the Army.

The vehicle he was traveling in was intercepted by militants near Kalampora. A search operation to find the jawan has been initiated by the Army.

The abduction of the jawan came several weeks after dreaded Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Sameer Tiger was gunned down by security forces in a fierce encounter in Pulwama.

Sameer Ahmad Bhat alias Sameer Tiger, an A++ category terrorist was killed in the encounter at the Drubgam village of Pulwama district in May this year.
