Jammu and Kashmir: Civilian injured in petrol bomb attack on policemen in Dalgate, Srinagar

An explosion occurred in Srinagar's Dalgate area which in turn led to a civilian being injured. The injured civilian has been identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad, a resident of old Srinagar.

An explosion occurred in Dalgate, Srinagar

Miscreants threw a petrol bomb on a police party at Dalgate area of Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday evening which in turn resulted in the injury of a civilian. Reports claimed that the explosion occurred on road.

"A petrol bomb was hurled towards a police party at Badyari Chowk in Dalgate area but it missed the intended target and exploded on the roadside," a police official said. A cab driver, identified as Imtiaz Ahmad was however injured in the explosion. The driver is reportedly a resident of old Srinagar.

Hospital sources have said that he has received a ‘splinter’ injury and is in stable condition.
