Three militants, including a Pakistani, involved in the abduction and killing of a police constable were killed by security forces in an encounter in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday, the police said.
Constable Mohammad Saleem Shah, who was on leave, was abducted by militants from his residence in Mutalhama area of Kulgam in south Kashmir on Friday. His body was recovered from a nursery near village Redwani Payeen on Saturday.
The body bore severe torture marks indicating that he was brutally tortured to death? by the militants, a police spokesman said.
The encounter broke out between the security forces and militants in Khudwani area of Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam district at the wee hours of Sunday. The gun battle ended with the killing of three militants.
Earlier, following the inputs about the presence of militants in the area, additional troops of the army and the state police were also rushed to the spot. While some people have started throwing stones at the security forces.

# 06:24 am: Encounter underway between security forces and terrorists in Wani mohalla locality in Khudwani area of Kulgam district.
The encounter came a day after Jammu and Kashmir policeman Salem Ahmed Shah was found dead in Kulgam. Shah was abducted by the terrorists from his home in Kulgam on Friday night. Read Full Story Here
