Jammu and Kashmir Police has arrested three person’s including two police constables from Shopian district of the state for supplying ammunition to Hizbul Mujahideen militants. The arrested two constables have been identified as Shabbir Ahmad Malik and Nazir Ahmad. While, the third person arrested has been identified as Adil Ahmad, a over-ground worker of Hizbul Mujahideen. According to sources in Jammu and Kashmir Police, the nexus between state police constables and Hizbul Mujahideen militants was busted after security forces nabbed Adil during a search operation. Security forces had recovered at least twenty rounds of Ak-47 bullet from Adil’s possession. Ahmad during interrogation spilled the beans on how he managed to get the Ak-47 ammunition and named Shabbir and Nazir. Sources added that Shabbir was posted in Ganderbal district and Nazir was posted in Kot DPL Shopian prior to their arrest. Hizbul Mujahideen is active in the Kashmir valley since 1989. The terrorist group has been involved in series of attacks on security forces in the valley.
