While speculations have been rife about the Janata Dal (United) forging an alliance ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, party leader KC Tyagi on Sunday said that the final decision will not be taken until and unless the Congress does not make its stand clear on the "corrupted" Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).
"Until and unless Congress clears its stand on a corrupt party like RJD, we don't know how to communicate with them any further," the news agency ANI quoted Tyagi as saying.
The JD-U National spokesperson further pitched the Modi government’s idea of One Nation One Election, saying that simultaneous elections of both Lok Sabha and state assemblies is a step towards less expensive polls. It will also help in curbing black money and improve the governance system in India.
However, it is difficult to conduct the simultaneous elections of both Lok Sabha and state assemblies across the country, he added.

Rubbishing the media reports of the JD-U helping the BJP, Tyagi said, "we are neither supporting them nor opposing them, we are not helping them". He further announced JD-U's decision to contest elections in Manipur, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh alone.
There are reports that the NDA ally is disappointed by the BJP’s attitude towards the party since JD-U chief Nitish Kumar formed an alliance in July 2017 after breaking ties with the Congress and the RJD.
With 2019 Lok Sabha elections just a few months away, all the power to take political decisions has been given to National President and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
Meanwhile, talking about the alleged strain in its tie with the BJP, party General Secretary Sanjay Jha said, the ruling alliance will fight the election together and the distribution of seats for the upcoming election will take place later in the year.
The JD-U would be "a big brother in seat sharing for 2019 polls in Bihar", KC Tyagi said ahead of the national executive meet on Sunday.
