New Delhi:

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday held a meeting of JD(U) MLAs and MPs during which the party decided to give more time to Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav, ANI quoted as saying.

After the meet, JDU leader Ramai Ram said that after 4 days we will discuss it again on Tejashwi Yadav. JDU leader Neeraj Kumar said that they know how to maintain alliance and it is expected that the people who have been accused will present facts in public domain.

The meeting was called to discuss future strategy over alliance with a corruption case RJD after CBI conducted raids in four cities in connection with a corruption case, in which the RJD chief, his wife Rabri Devi and son Tejashwi are among the accused.

Nitish had given no reaction on CBI’s raids till Tuesday’s meeting.

On Monday, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) had made it clear that “there was no question” of Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Prasad Yadav’s resignation in the wake of his name appearing in the CBI FIR in the land-for-hotel case.

Earlier on Friday, the CBI registered a corruption case against Lalu Yadav, his wife Rabri Devi, son Tejaswi Yadav; former Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) Managing Director P.K. Goyal; and the wife of Lalu's confidante Prem Chand Gupta, Sujata on allegations of awarding the tender for development, maintenance and operation of hotels in Ranchi and Puri in 2006.

The CBI later questioned Rabri Devi and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav.
