New Delhi:

Karnataka government on Tuesday passed an order to put a cap of Rs 200 on movie ticket prices at all movie halls. The cap of Rs 200 on movie tickets will be applicable from Tuesday.

The news of capping price of movie tickets first surfaced in last week of April and it created jubilations among movie-goers. The news spread like a wildfire and people were very enthusiastic about it.

Earlier, the Chief Minister had already given in-principle consent to the proposal to cap multiplex tickets.

The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC), the apex body of Kannada film industry, has been vowing for implementing the proposal after receiving the complaints of multiplexes collecting ever so high ticket rates.
