Kashmiri leader Engineer Rashid on Thursday said that separatist leader SAS Geelani has urged mainstream leaders to join Hurriyat. Rashid informed that he has an appointment with Geelani and will meet Yasin Malilk too.
“We'll join Hurriyat with the condition that when we sit across table, we'll discuss and come to a common ground,” said Engineer Rashid.
Reacting to Rashid’s statement, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said that he thinks that Rashid wants to go to Pakistan. He added that Rashid can join anyone there and he can even join Masood Azhar.
Engineer Rashid is a Kashmiri Politician and Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Langate constituency in Handwara of Jammu and Kashmir. He is also referred as the firebrand lawmaker of Jammu and Kashmir.
Rashid joined politics in the year 2008 and stunned political observers by defeating senior NC and PDP leaders Sharif Din Shariq and Muhammad Sultan Panditpuri by 210 votes. He also won from the same constituency in the year 2015. He is currently MLA from Langate and patron of Awami Itihad Party.
