New Delhi:

The Bhartiya Janta Party worker who suffered burn injuries after CPM workers allegedly set his house ablaze succumbed to injuries on Friday.

The 44-year-old Chadayankalayil Radhakrishnan died at the Thrissur Jubilee Mission Hospital. 

Immediately after the death, the BJP party has called a hartal in the district between 6 am and 6 pm on Saturday.

The BJP worker Radhakrishnan's house in Kanjikkode in Palakkad was burnt after CPM workers in the area allegedly set fire to bikes parked in front of the house.

The fire then spread to a gas cylinder which exploded and burnt the entire house.

The arson also injured three other people, including Radhakrishnan’s brother Kannan, a former panchayat member and his wife Vimala.
