Lashkar-e-Taiba is one of the most active terrorist organization in South Asia,operating mainly from Pakistan,and is headed by Hafiz Muhammad Saeed.

This terror group was founded in 1987 by Hafiz Saeed,Abdullah Azzam and Zafar Iqbal in Afghanistan,with funding from Osama Bin Laden.

Its objective is to introduce an Islamic state in South Asia.Its headquarter is in Muridke,near Lahore in Punjab province of Pakistan.

It operates several training camps in Pakistan occupied Kashmir.LeT has carried out attacks in various parts of India,including Delhi,Banglore,Mumbai,Hyderabad,Varanasi,Gujrat etc.

LeT'S presence in India was recorded for the first time in  1993,when 12 Pakistani and Afghan  mercenaries infiltered across the LOC in tandem with Islami Inquilabi Mahaz,a terrorist outfit then active in Jammu and Kashmir.

The group attacked Indian Parliament in 2001 and in 2008 attacked Mumbai. From years it has been attacking military and civilians in India.

Out of all the Pakistan based terrorist groups,the LeT is the only group with support bases across INDIA.

This terrorist organisation is banned by India,the United states,Britain,and also the military regime of Gen Pervez Musharraf banned the Lashkar-e-Taiba in 2002.
