New Delhi:

Light scattered rainfall was witnessed in several parts of the national capital on Friday, bringing down the mercury by over six degrees in the evening.

The maximum temperature was recorded as 25.8 degrees Celsius, three notches below the season’s average while the minimum temperature settled at 15.5 degrees, a notch above the normal, a Met department official said.

The Safdarjung observatory received “traces” of rainfall till 5.30 PM today, the official said.

Areas under Lodhi Road, Palam and Ayanagar also recorded light rains while Ridge received rainfall measuring 1.4 mm in the same period.

The humidity oscillated between 89 and 55 per cent.

The weatherman has predicted overcast conditions with the likelihood of thunderstorm with rain for on Saturday.

“The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover at 23 and 12 degrees Celsius, respectively,” the Department said.

On Thursday, the minimum and maximum temperatures had settled at 14.6 and 27 degrees Celsius respectively.
