New Delhi:

Pakistan on Monday violated ceasefire in Uri sector injuring one jawan. Artillery shells were fired from the PoK side targeting several posts in the country. Indian Army retaliated to the firing.

Earlier in the day, a minor girl and an Indian Army jawan were killed in a cross-border firing by Pakistan near the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch's Balakote. Pakistan had reportedly violated ceasefire along the LoC in Poonch's Balakote and Rajouri'a Manjakote.

The army jawan killed in the crossfire has been identified as Naik Muddasar Ahmed, a native of J&K's Tral region.

"Two civilians seriously injured, schools closed for an indefinite period of time, evacuation to be done once there is break in firing," DDC Rajouri said.
