The Parliament is expected to witness another disrupting session on Friday, as the opposition continues to protest against political upheaval in Bihar. The Lok Sabha is due to take up the Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Bill, 2016 for discussion.
House proceedings on Thursday
Proceedings of the Lok Sabha were disrupted on Thursday as some Opposition parties created an uproar over the political developments in Bihar and some other issues.
As soon as the House took up the Question Hour, Jai Prakash Narayan Yadav (RJD) raised the issue of JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar leaving the 'grand alliance' and forming a new government with the BJP.
Shouting from his bench in the front row, he dubbed it as "murder of democracy".
Congress members also trooped into the well of the House, demanding revocation of the suspension of six of its members.
They carried placards which read: "End discrimination, give justice Madam Speaker" and "take back suspension (of six party MPs)."
Meanwhile, a section of Rajya Sabha members belonging to the Congress, the DMK, the TMC and the CPI staged a demonstration in Parliament premises and demanded an exemption to Tamil Nadu from the purview of the NEET exam.

Bills passed on Thursday
IITs given statutory status
Parliament on Thursday passed a bill to grant statutory status to the Indian Institutes of Information Technology in private-partnership mode after the government assured members that reservation policy would apply there.
The Indian Institutes of Information Technology (Public-Private Partnership) Bill, 2017 seeks to grant statutory status to 15 IIITs and declare them as ‘Institutions of National Importance’.
It seeks to enable these institutions to grant degrees to their students in the academic courses conducted by them. The Lok Sabha had passed the legislation on July 19 and the Upper House passed it today by a voice vote.
Lok Sabha clears bill to amend companies law
The Lok Sabha also passed a bill to amend the companies law seeking to strengthen corporate governance standards, initiate strict action against defaulting companies and help improve the ease of doing business in the country.
Piloting the Companies (Amendment) Bill, 2016, Minister of State for Corporate Affairs Arjun Ram Meghwal also said that NSEL and PACL scams were a legacy of the previous regime which the current government is trying to address.
The bill, which was passed by a voice vote, provides for more than 40 amendments to the Companies Act, 2013, which was passed during the previous UPA regime.
