New Delhi:
In a tragic incident, at least 15 people were killed and six others injured after a tractor trolley rammed into a jeep in Madhya Pradesh's Morena district on Thursday. All the injured have been rushed to a nearby hospital where some of them were stated to be in critical condition.
"The sand-laden tractor-trolley hit the overloaded jeep carrying nearly 20 people of a family around 6 am at a crossroad near Ganjrampur village," PTI quoted Morena Superintendent of Police Amit Sanghi as saying.
The driver of the tractor-trolley, carrying sand mined illegally from the National Chambal Sanctuary, fled the spot after the accident. A case has been registered against him and the probe was ordered into the accident, Sanghi said.
According to reports, the victims, all from Gwalior district, were going to Ghurgan village for a condolence meeting when the accident took place on Ganjrampur road some 4 km from Morena district headquarters.
