National Crime Record Bureau's recent report has revealed that 43.2 percent of rape victims in 2016 were minors. The report also said that there were 39068 cases of rape registered in police stations across the country.
As per the report, 8656 victims were between 16-18 years of age, 6091 victims were between 12-16 age group; 1596 victims were between 6-12 years of age and 520 children below the age of six.
The NCRB breakdown reveals that out of the total incidents involving minors, 2479 were reported in Madhya Pradesh, followed by 2310 in Maharashtra, 1250 in Odisha, 1142 in Karnataka, 984 in Chhattisgarh, 800 in Delhi and 777 in Punjab.

# A 17-year-old girl was allegedly abducted and gang-raped by four men for 10 days at a lodge in Whitefield, Bengaluru.
# On November 14, a one-and-a-half-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her caretaker and his friend in south Delhi.
# A 17-year-old girl, who was allegedly gang-raped by three young men in Punjab’s Fazika district, died of excessive bleeding on October 30.
