Danger to freedom of speech and expression is at an all time high at Kerala. 49 year old senior journalist Gopalan was allegendly beaten up by members of the state of police on Sunday as per NDTV reports.

Gopalan was not only beaten but also stripped in front of his family and received serious injuries. The senior journlaist works for Kalakaumudi newspaper. 

After the incident Gopalan was rushed to the hospital where he said that he did a story a few months back on the police's inaction after two women complained of harrassment by a group of men. 

The violent assault followed by stripping happened infront of his wife and 15 year old daughter. Gopalan's wife Deepa Sajeev said that the police left when they shouted for help and took a relative along with them. 

If any police official is found guilty then strict action will be taken, said Thiruvananthapuram Rural SP P Asok Kumar told NDTV.
