The Ministry of Railways on Wednesday allowed mAadhaar as one of prescribed proofs of identity for train travel purposes. The announcement will make smartphone users happy as it will now be easy to furnish identity proof during train travel.

The move will also provide users a luxury of not carrying the hard copy of the identity proofs while travelling in train.

With mAadhaar facility, users do not require to carry Aadhaar card everywhere for verification and authentication.

The UIDAI had launched mAadhaar app for mobile users that will allow users to carry unique identification profile on mobile.

With mAadhaar, the user can download his Aadhaar profile on their smartphones and will not be required to carry hard copies.
