On the second day Sharad Navaratri, Devi Brahmacharini is worshipped by the devotees. It will be celebrated on September 22, Friday. She was created by Lord Brahma and considered to be the source of ultimate knowledge and wisdom. This form of Maa Parvati is recognized as – she walks on bare feet, carries a Rudraksha mala in her right hand and a kamandalu in her left hand.
It is said that Goddess Brahmacharini did severe penance to get Lord Shiva as her husband. She performed hard austerity and due to which she was called Brahmacharini.
Brahmcharini means Tapa Charini – The one who perform Tapa or penance. Mata Bhramacharni is known for knowledge and wisdom. Rudraksha is her most adorned ornament.
Food offering: Sugar is offered to Goddess Brahmacharini.
